CNC MACHINING
CNC machine tool is the abbreviation of computer numerical control machine tools. It is an automatic machine tool equipped with the program control system.
With the progress of science and technology, and the development of the times, the modern CNC system uses the system program in the microprocessor to realize the logic control, so as to realize part or all of the CNC functions. We call this system the CNC system, and the lathe with the CNC system becomes a CNC lathe. At present, people refer to CNC lathes generally.
Advantages of CNC machining
① The number of tooling is greatly reduced, and complex tooling is not needed to process parts with complex shapes. If we want to change the shape and size of the parts, we only need to modify the processing procedure of the parts, which is suitable for the development and modification of new products.
② The machining quality is stable, the machining precision is high, the repetitive precision is high, and it can meet the machining requirements of aircraft.
③ In the case of multitudinous variety and small batch production, the production efficiency is higher, which can reduce the time of production preparation, machine tool adjustment, and process inspection, and reduce the cutting time due to the use of the best cutting amount.
④ It can process complex surfaces which are difficult to be processed by conventional methods, and even process some parts which cannot be observed.
A disadvantage of CNC machining
The cost of machine tools and equipment is expensive, and maintenance personnel are required to have a high level.
Parts are best behaved in smaller sizes weighing up to around 75 lbs, with large parts being generally better suited to other casting processes
The process is complex and typically involves expensive equipment and/or technicians to operate
The high cost of dies to make the wax patterns limits the processes of high-volume production projects
Parts with cores or holes smaller than 1.6 mm or holes deeper than 1.5 times the diameter of the part are difficult to investment cast
